The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Victoria Peach as its new Chief Nurse following a competitive national recruitment process. She will take up the post on 14 September 2026, succeeding Julie Gray, who retires at the end of August.
Currently serving as Interim Director of Integrated Community Health (West) at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Victoria Peach brings nearly three decades of nursing and healthcare leadership experience to one of the UK's leading specialist cancer centres.
In her new role, she will oversee a broad portfolio spanning quality of care, professional leadership for nursing and allied health professional (AHP) teams, and infection prevention and control. Her appointment comes at a pivotal time as the Trust continues to advance innovative, patient-centred cancer services across Cheshire, Merseyside and beyond.
A graduate of the University of Manchester, where she qualified as a nurse in 1997, Victoria Peach later completed an MSc in Practitioner Development at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2004. She also holds a specialist registered district nursing qualification and has built a career centred on integrated care and improving patient outcomes.
After beginning her career as a district nurse in Stockport, she went on to become a specialist tissue viability nurse in Manchester before progressing to a nurse consultant role in Leicestershire. Between 2015 and 2018, she served as Head of Professional Practice and Education at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.
She subsequently joined Cheshire and Wirral Partnership in 2018 as Associate Director of Nursing and Therapies before being appointed Deputy Chief Nurse at Wirral University Teaching Hospital in 2021. In 2024, she moved to Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, where she currently leads integrated community health services across the western region.
Welcoming the appointment, Chief Executive Joan Spencer said:
“Victoria brings extensive senior nursing experience, a clear focus on quality, and a real passion for supporting nursing and AHP colleagues to do their best work. She brings a wealth of experience across community and acute services, and her commitment to patient-focused, integrated care aligns strongly with our values here at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. I am very much looking forward to working with her.”
Speaking about joining the Trust, Victoria Peach commented:
“I am thrilled to be joining The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, an organisation that is renowned for outstanding, patient-centred cancer care, its compassionate and innovative culture, and the expertise and professionalism of its staff. People here are ambitious about driving forward cancer care and continually improving outcomes and patient experience.
I am particularly excited by the opportunity to work alongside nursing and AHP colleagues who make such a difference to people’s lives.”

The appointment marks a significant addition to the Trust's executive leadership team as it continues to strengthen its focus on clinical excellence, workforce development and high-quality cancer care for patients across the region.
